The Emmental is almost unmatched as a region of gentle hills, green valleys, scenic ridgelines and authentic Swiss cultural landscapes. Many people know it mainly for Emmentaler cheese – but the Emmental is far more than that: a rural yet surprisingly varied region with winding backroads, historic villages, impressive farmhouses and wide views stretching all the way to the Bernese Alps. Look forward to enjoyable roads, fascinating stories and culinary discoveries centred around Emmentaler AOP, meringues and Kambly biscuits. 👉 Detailed itinerary

We start in Madiswil (BE) and ride from there through the Emmental on varied and enjoyable roads. Shortly after departure, quiet valley stretches alternate with gentle climbs and winding backroads – exactly the kind of route that makes this region so appealing for relaxed motorcycle touring.

Along the way, we pass typical Emmental villages, historic farmhouses and scenic viewpoints with views across the rolling hills and, on a clear day, all the way to the Bernese Alps. The route is deliberately chosen to combine riding flow, beautiful landscapes and relaxed moments of enjoyment.

Depending on the stops, regional specialities and small culinary discoveries await you along the way. These may include Emmentaler AOP, traditional meringues or the well-known Kambly biscuits, depending on the route. The tour is complemented by fascinating stories about the region, making the Emmental an experience not only on the road, but culturally as well.

The tour ends in Burgdorf (BE). With the impressive Burgdorf Castle, whose origins date back to the Zähringer dynasty, the day reaches a fitting and atmospheric finale. From here, you begin your individual journey home.
