Welcome to the Slovenia tour 2026!
Slovenia is one of Europe’s most versatile yet still underrated motorcycle destinations. Tucked between the Alps, the Adriatic and the Balkans, this small country offers an incredible mix of alpine passes, emerald rivers, lush valleys, dramatic karst landscapes and Mediterranean flair.
Our route takes you from Switzerland through Austria and Italy into the stunning Julian Alps of Slovenia, through Triglav National Park and along the emerald Soča Valley all the way to the Adriatic coast. We take four days to fully explore and enjoy the western part of Slovenia before heading back towards Switzerland over spectacular high alpine passes. You’ll find the full itinerary in the expandable section below.
This trip is perfect for you if…
– you love smooth, flowing roads and riding with enjoyment rather than pressure

Day 1 – Alpine kick-off into the Vinschgau Valley
Distance: 360 km
We leave everyday life behind. From the Swiss Midlands we head towards Graubünden and the first alpine passes, clear mountain air and great curves get us straight into the flow. Our destination: the Vinschgau with its apple orchards and sweeping views across the Etsch valley. We end the evening at the hotel with its own spa before rounding off the day with hearty South Tyrolean cuisine.
Day 2 – Dolomite vibes in the Villnöss Valley
Distance: 230 km
From Vinschgau we roll past Merano and Bolzano and dive into the Dolomites. Bright rock faces, lush green, passes and curves, pure riding pleasure. We wind through the picturesque Villnöss Valley, straight out of a picture book. After a stop at the Roman excavations of Aguntum near Lienz we reach Carinthia, where we let the day’s impressions sink in over regional specialities.
Day 3 – Julian Alps and Bled
Distance: 220 km
The moment has come. We cross the border into Slovenia, our territory for the next four days. We dive into Triglav National Park, Slovenia’s wildest heartland: crystal-clear streams and turquoise shimmering pools accompany us through the Julian Alps. We end the evening in Bled with views of the famous island church and the castle high above the lake.
Day 4 – Southbound to the Adriatic
Distance: 210 km
The alpine world stays behind as the Julian Alps give way to the gentle Gorenjska. Hilltops with church spires, quiet monuments from the partisan winter of 1942, a brief reflective moment before we plunge into Mediterranean Slovenia, where warm sea air and a completely different world await. In the evening we explore the Venetian old town of Piran.
Day 5 – Wine in Goriška Brda
Distance: 150 km
We leave the coast behind and discover the softer side of Slovenia. Through the karst landscape and the wind-shaped Vipava Valley we swing into the wine region of Goriška Brda, Slovenia’s Tuscany. Gentle hills, vines and small villages radiate pure southern ease. We stay the night directly at a local winery, with wine tasting and dinner included.
Day 6 – The Slovenian Ridge Road and the Soča Valley
Distance: 160 km
Today gets intense on the bike. We conquer the Slovenian ridge road high above the Soča Valley and pass the silent monuments of the Isonzo Front. A highlight is the Tolmin Gorge: walkways through the rock, emerald water, pure nature. As a reward we wind down in a small 5-star spa hotel.
Day 7 – High Alpine Classics in Tyrol
Distance: 250 km
The route pulls us north again. Classic high alpine roads, dramatic elevation changes and endless panoramas make our biker hearts beat faster. Pure riding flow in high alpine scenery. We round off the day with hearty home cooking and authentic alpine comfort.
Day 8 – Heading Home with Pass Feeling
Distance: 270 km
One last alpine crossing awaits. We soak up the curves and the fresh air one final time. As tradition has it, we end our tour at Lake Walen, a shared currywurst stop at a family-run café, high above the water with views of the lake and the striking Churfirsten mountains behind it. It doesn’t get more grounded or more beautiful than this.
